glorifying the Father, by His Spirit in us and through us.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>A.\u00a0 THE SCRIPTURES<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Scripture, as it appeared in the original manuscripts, is the Divinely inspired, in-errant Word of God\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All scripture is centered on Christ <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All scripture is for our instruction and correction <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">B.\u00a0 THE GODHEAD<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Godhead is three persons &#8211; The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">C.\u00a0 ANGELS, FALLEN AND UN-FALLEN<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Angels are sinless, spiritual created beings <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Satan (Lucifer) is an angel who fell because of pride <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Satan is the originator of sin, who is the enemy of God and all believers <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Demons are fallen angels accompanying Satan <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Angels who did not fall minister to believers <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">D.\u00a0 MAN: CREATED AND FALLEN<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Man was originally created in the image of God <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He (Adam) fell through sin, lost his spiritual life and thus died <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He passed on his sin nature to all the human race <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The human race is born in a depraved and lost condition <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">E.\u00a0 THE DISPENSATIONS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Human history is divided into different dispensations or stewardship periods <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Each dispensation has shown the failure of mankind to live righteously <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The current dispensation of Grace will be followed by a 7 year period which conclude the dispensation of Law <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The future dispensation of the Millennial Kingdom will take place after the 2nd advent of Christ <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God has shown salvation by grace in each dispensation <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">F.\u00a0 THE FIRST ADVENT<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus was born of a virgin in a sinless human body <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus was both perfect man and perfect God <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus fulfilled the prophesies as Israel&#8217;s Messiah <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He was born as a sacrifice for the sins of all the world <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He died on the cross, was buried and was resurrected <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He physically ascended into heaven <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He is now before the Father as our High Priest <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">G.\u00a0 SALVATION ONLY THROUGH CHRIST<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A person must be born again to receive eternal life <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Salvation is by faith alone in the substitutionary death of Christ on our behalf <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">H.\u00a0 THE EXTENT OF SALVATION<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When a person is born again they are a new creation, fully justified and accepted by God <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">At the moment of re-birth our salvation is complete and we posses every spiritual blessing <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I.\u00a0 SANCTIFICATION<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sanctification has a past, present and future aspect <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Past &#8211; when we were placed positionally in Christ at re-birth <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Present &#8211; we are being sanctified now as the Holy Spirit perfects us <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Future &#8211; when we shall be fully changed and fully conformed to the image of Christ <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>J. ETERNAL SECURITY<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Every born again believer is eternally secure in that their salvation cannot be lost <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If we continually sin, God will chasten us, but we will not lose our salvation <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">K.\u00a0 ASSURANCE OF SALVATION<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Salvation is assured because it is based on the promises in the written Word of God <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Salvation is assured because it is based on the work of Christ on the cross <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">L.\u00a0 THE HOLY SPIRIT<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Holy Spirit was given universally to believers on the Day of Pentecost <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He indwells every person from the moment of conversion <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He is at work in believers, energizing them by the use of spiritual gifts for specific ministries <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The gifts of speaking in tongues and healing were temporary during the formation of the early church and are not for the today <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">M.\u00a0 THE CHURCH, A UNITY OF BELIEVERS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The church is the Body and Bride of Christ and is composed of all believers who have been born-again by the Holy Spirit <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The church is distinct from Israel <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>N.\u00a0 THE SACRAMENTS OR ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Water baptism and the Lord\u2019s Supper are the only sacraments for the church in this dispensation<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O.\u00a0 THE CHRISTIAN\u2019S WALK<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Christians are to walk in and by the power of the Holy Spirit <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our old Adamic nature can still affect our walk unless we are yielded to the Holy Spirit <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">P.\u00a0 THE CHRISTIAN\u2019S SERVICE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to believers to empower them for service to God <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Q.\u00a0 THE GREAT COMMISSION<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Believers are to act as ambassadors, and witnesses of Christ to those that are not saved <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">R.\u00a0 THE BLESSED HOPE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Christ will return to gather all born-again believers to Himself (&#8220;Rapture&#8221;) before the Great Tribulation <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">S.\u00a0 THE TRIBULATION<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">After the &#8220;Rapture&#8221; of the Church there will be a 7 year period of Tribulation <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The 7 year period of the Tribulation is the seventieth week of Daniel which will conclude the dispensation of Law <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">T.\u00a0 THE SECOND ADVENT (COMING) OF CHRIST<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Christ will personally return at the end of the Tribulation to set up His Kingdom on earth which will last for 1000 years <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Christ will rule as King in the Millennial Kingdom which will complete the covenant God made with Israel <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">U.\u00a0 THE ETERNAL STATE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Christ will personally return at the end of the Tribulation to set up His Kingdom on earth which will last for 1000 years <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Christ will rule as King in the Millennial Kingdom which will complete the covenant God made with Israel<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vision Statement: The chief aim of Hillside Community Church is Christ; glorifying the Father, by His Spirit in us and through us.
